Thanks! Though it's a lot to read. Was that a cheat sheet? Do you mind if I print it out? I won't if you don't let.
[I am worried for myself. I got 63% on the Road Scholar quiz last time. TT^TT]

THANKS A MILLION. I was reading it and I had a pop quiz. It was my first one without a failing score.

Is the satellite imaging a large part of the test? I know it's new this year and is interpreting the satellite image the only part (aside from answering questions about it)?

I highly doubt it. As usual, I expect topographic maps and highway maps to play a large portion in this event. Here's how it's probably going to play out in order of what you'll see most:

1. Topographic maps (quads)
2. Highway maps
3. Build-a-map
4. Topographic profiles
5. Satellite Imaging
6. UTM

That doesn't mean don't prepare for it though.

Hmmm, the rules page for Road Scholar doesn't give anything specific about what to study for satellite imaging. And for UTM, there was no UTM in States last year and I studied for it. Can anyone whose had UTM on their Road Scholar test tell me what I should know about it? Are the questions just knowledge-based questions?

I didn't have UTM at any competition. Probably just the basics, same for imaging.

Building maps, satellite imaging, what?!?! I get topographic maps, highway maps(barely), understanding how to read contours and profiles(barely), looking for specific items on the map, but WHOA, building maps, satellite imaging, UTM, no way.

Build-a-map is pretty easy, they'll give you a blank square and then instruct you to fill it in like a section on a topographic map. Be sure to have your symbols sheet.

Satellite imaging and UTM won't be as big of a part, I'd assume imaging is just the basics, so check maybe the Remote Sensing Wiki for info on that.

For UTM, here's a good link: http://www.maptools.com/UsingUTM/

Don't worry too much about these, like robotman said, just check the wiki.
