Oof. Surrender to our team. Resistance is futile. Looks like Huntley just got more competitive. Also is Nequea going to our invitational? I have yet to check our roster...tchennn wrote:TheChiScientist wrote:Our team is headed to Huntley. You'll be facing against Neuqua Valley
Unfortunately without their varsity forensics team as both of them will be at UChicago for a Model UN conference.
The one weekend that conflicts for both me and my partner.

Haha our coaches are adamant that we're making nationals this year, along with our seniors as well. But everyone else is a bit less optimistic. Our coaches are a lot stricter this year due to poor performance last year at state.
Despite that, we're only going to Palatine and Huntley this year despite many many pleas from our exec board to our coaches.

RIP. I remember seeing Nequa all the time at our invite. Also lol. If anyone is toppling the monopoly set by Stevenson and New Trier it's gonna be Naperville North as they have gotten exponentially better and they also gave Stevenson and New Trier quite the scare last year at state.tchennn wrote:TheChiScientist wrote:Oof. Ahahaha yea, shame they weren't at Palatine though that would've been a really interesting precursor to how State would go.

Naperville North was present at Conant and they wiped the floor with most of the other teams with a score of 86... 3 of them were in the top 5 at state last year! I think their regional will show how state might turn out.tchennn wrote:TheChiScientist wrote:RIP. I remember seeing Nequa all the time at our invite. Also lol. That monopoly will finally go down ahahaha. Do you know when the Rockford Auburn Invitational results are supposed to be published? I'm dying to fill in my spreadsheet with more statistics on my events and possible competition.TheChiScientist wrote:Naperville North was present at Conant and they wiped the floor with most of the other teams with a score of 86... 3 of them were in the top 5 at state last year! Re: Illinois 2019
Lol. No idea cuz our team used to compete there but we got bored cuz it was easy pickings tbh. Best invitationals to watch/record would be Palatine, UChicago, CLC, Huntley, and Loyola. After that, we can only see what regionals bring us.tchennn wrote:That monopoly will finally go down ahahaha. Do you know when the Rockford Auburn Invitational results are supposed to be published? Hahaha speaking of regionals, ours will be interesting this year. Our coach says that it'll be Neuqua, Waubonsie, Metea, UC Lab, and Lyons at the NV regional, and hopefully 5 bids instead of 4....

Re: Illinois 2019
That's gonna get rough real fast if it only allows 4... Reminds me of last year when our team had to deal with Hinsdale C, Naperville N and C, and York HS... Oh boy was that nerve-racking... (We won second by 3 points )tchennn wrote:TheChiScientist wrote:Lol. No idea cuz our team used to compete there but we got bored cuz it was easy pickings tbh.
