2 minute chinook with all bonuses was probably necessary to medal. I hear a team got over 3 minutes with a chinook.
3 minutes raw time?
yep, Ward Melville with a 3:03 raw time for first, 2:59 raw for second.

No, it was Clements from Texas.

Was Ward's 2018 heli based off Dave's FF model? I haven't seen very many competitive models that weren't similar to his.

Pretty sure all the top placings at MIT were all using Freedom Flight.

Anyone want to take a guess as to around what a raw time of 1:40 would get with all the bonuses at nats?

Ok thanks, with all the top times being around 3 minutes I wasn't sure how far down 1:40 would be

Hey guys, Alvinthegreat525 from the great state of Arkansas,

First of off all I'd like to congratulate u on your hard work that obviously payed off onto a really impressive run cls412! I am rather new to these science olympics, but am learning faster than u could of ever expected. This is my first time competting for the state olympiads tournament, and am really dedicated to my craft. I have currently made 8 (working on my ninth) helicopters in preperation for the tourney. My 7th copter boasted an impressive time of 1:16 seconds on our first test. Unfortuantely our second time tested it the poor thing got stuck in our tree, and now our northern mocking bird named aj has been using the parts for his nest. I am currently build what i hope to be the fastest one yet, and was wondering what a time of 1:25 seconds would get at a state tourney. this is my first time doing science olympics so am hopping to do my best. Also if u have any tips for new time olympiads please let me no.

Thanks, Alvinthegreat525 from the great state of Arkansas.

With the Chinook bonus, anything over 30 seconds would likely easily win AR state. 1:25 nonbonus should medal easily and would likely win, seeing as Arkansas has perhaps 15-25 Div C teams total.
