Until we have evidence that Thomas Jefferson has either fallen or disappeared, you cannot mention the teams best in the running for the B title in Indiana without mentioning the team that has won Indiana nine straight times, and 25 times total. You just cannot.

Chesterton doesn't even have the excuse that they haven't competed against Indiana teams yet; they were only 5 points behind Wilbur Wright at Northridge. Raymond Park I guess I can forgive, but it's a big leap of faith to not mention the defending runner-up.

D E N I A L anyways the reason why it appears that way is because TJ doesn't attend that many invitationals, and thus, you don't have a lot of/enough data on them to make an informed opinion. I'm not sure what you have or haven't observed, but the State results of the past 20+ years, as well as that score of 38 at regionals this past weekend do speak for TJ's strength though. They are not to be ignored. Also, Wilbur Wright has tended to underperform at State for the past couple years, so I'm not sure why you predict them to place so high.

I feel like John Adams also look like a pretty strong team. Not enough to win state, but i could see them breaking into the top 5. Especially considering they got 6th last year.

I checked the results and TJ had 16 first places, with the majority of the remaining points coming from builds (Roller Coaster and Towers) or events with a practical portion (Optics). Besides that they had an excellent tournament. Moreover, they most certainly went against reputable teams, such as Chesterton who won 3rd last year at Indiana States. The number of invitationals a team goes to does not imply they're a stronger team. For example, Mounds View in Div C goes to very few invitationals but are extremely strong at Nationals.

I've actually never heard of Pennfield. And, in fact, I went back to the scioly.org wiki's page on Indiana to check all the State tournament results for Division B to make sure I didn't miss anything. I didn't even see a school called Pennfield listed under any of those results, and those go back all the way to 2004.

TJ's score at the state tournament has been either in the very low 100's or below 100 (mostly below 100) for the past at least 15 years. That's pretty dominant for a state that hosts a considerable amount of teams, and it's even more impressive that they've kept the winning streak for that long, unlike for Division C in which no team has kept that long of a running streak for the title. I'm not sure what "plenty of information on TJ" you have, but I'm sure that whatever it is, it is probably incorrect.

I also honestly find it amusing that you're trying to think that you know more about Indiana SciOly results/culture than I do.
