Hopefully, it doesn't. But if it gets worse I could definitely see teams not going or in a worst-case scenario, state being canceled.space-egg wrote: ↑March 6th, 2020, 8:39 pmHow do you think this will affect state?boomifailure wrote: ↑March 6th, 2020, 3:08 pmAlso, it isn’t in some small place. It’s near Indianapolis which is a hub for lots of teams.

Re: Indiana 2020
I recommend preparing for the tournament to happen as planned, but also have plans for if the tournament is postponed or canceled. I also recommend updating relevant individuals (e.g. state director, state tournament director) through your coach if your team's ability to participate changes (e.g. your school district cancels participation in sanctioned activities), as in Washington state that factored into the decision to cancel an upcoming tournament.

Re: Indiana 2020
So if they cancel state tournaments, what happens to the bids? Do we just have nationals with 20 teams? xD

Re: Indiana 2020
That would be interesting, but at this rate Nationals even happening seems unlikely, though it’s definitely too early to say. If more than half the states are cancelled, then it’s pretty likely every other state will be affected too.

What rate? I thought only a few states had cancelled.MacintoshJosh wrote: ↑March 7th, 2020, 5:26 am That would be interesting, but at this rate Nationals even happening seems unlikely, though it’s definitely too early to say. At the rate that the virus is progressing and the lack of competency from the world's governments in their containment efforts. Bringing so many people in from every state, including highly affected areas, would be a major health risk. As much as I don't want to say it, I think that canceling nationals would be the right thing to do.AlfWeg wrote: ↑March 7th, 2020, 7:17 amWhat rate? I'm gonna hope that doesn't happen for purely selfish reasons. Re: Indiana 2020
It appears we received incorrect info regarding Maine. They posted the SoCal message on their website, but they have not yet canceled.AlfWeg wrote: ↑March 7th, 2020, 8:03 amI'm gonna hope that doesn't happen for purely selfish reasons.
