Unless they tell us, no, but I would hope it would be a graduated cylinder. You could try to contact whoever is running it, I think it's on the nationals webpage.LoopQuantumGravity wrote:Is there any way to find out what container the salt water will be in at nationals? At states, they gave us a 500 mL beaker, and everyone's salinometer was too long.

Same for our states, but the graduated cylinder should be large enough for you to successfully test your salinometer. I'm not sure how large it was, but the graduated cylinder was around 1.5-2 feet long.FlyingMonkey85 wrote:Odd, at NY States (B) this year, I was told that I was not allowed to bring a graduated cylinder as they provided one.quizbowl wrote:At NY states this year, we were permitted to use a graduated cylinder, as long as we were the last ones to go in our time slot.hpfananu wrote:Do you guys know if we are allowed to bring a graduated cylinder for our salinometer?

I guess, but there are many past that, such as TDS and alkalinity, but that is probably the most important bast the 7 with Q-values.Fossil Freak 25 wrote:I know the 9 WQ tests, but is salinity technically the 10th test?

That may have something to do with ecological succession (the progression of a community), but I've never heard of that specifically, but I'd expect it has to do with the growth of plants and introduction (naturally, of course) of animals into a marsh, lake, swamp etc. ecosystem.FlyingMonkey85 wrote:Anyone know anything on Wetland Evolution?

What did y'all think of the division b water quality test? We liked the length and thought we did okay on it. We ended up 12th.

Re: Water Quality B/C
The stations were a little confusing at the beginning... We actually missed 5 minutes of the first station because we thought we were suppose to take the test, then they would call up our team number to come and do the extra station. Whoops! Good thing that the macros were fairly easy.. We ended up taking 21st, and were mad at ourselves for missing some questions that we knew we got wrong and that we should've gotten right.ptkid wrote:What did y'all think of the division b water quality test? Re: Water Quality B/C
So, what should be different about wq next year being with a slightly different topic? Will the macros still be the same?
