I've thought about it, but it'll be difficult to convince the others because of the high competition.rfscoach wrote:Unome wrote:Have considered it but heard from samlan that it is poorly run and very difficult to arbitrate. The schedule from MGSU last year (2-4 slots per event self-scheduling) is very appealing compared to GPC's triangular schedule (we nearly ran out of competitors on both teams during the first time slot). Also I'm willing to trust the regional-picking expertise of Parkview (who last I heard still had the same coach as from the mid-2000s).rfscoach wrote: While all GA Division C regionals have their qwerks, out state regionals tend to be extra qwerky. Have you considered GA Tech?
Yes, the GPC schedule is awful. It may be worth the drive to Macon as some of us will never go back to SPSU. What about UNG Dahlonega? That is plenty early.

Re: Georgia 2017
I would probably do UNG Dahlonega and risk taking 2nd to Brookwood and gain the extra State prep time, particularly if Hooch is really going to Mentor on Feb 11. If you can swing the 2nd out state invite, it will be great prep for you state team.Unome wrote:I've thought about it, but it'll be difficult to convince the others because of the high competition.rfscoach wrote:Unome wrote: Have considered it but heard from samlan that it is poorly run and very difficult to arbitrate. Re: Georgia 2017
There's a reason Chattahoochee, Milton, and McIntosh all left after 2015. SPSU is notorious for badly run tournaments. Events are frequently badly run, and most likely several tests will be reused (I'll let someone else give tell the state tournament stories from 2013 and 2014 since I don't remember them too well).BrS wrote:How's the SPSU Regional, in terms of organization, fairness, and scheduling?

Re: Georgia 2017
So looks like regional selection has been postponed to October 19th due to the hurricane-related power outages (also one regional changed their date).

Hyped for regional signups tomorrow, and also for Rockdale later this week! Looking forward to seeing scores.
