Re: Remote Sensing
are there any good sites that can help with the global warming side of remote sensing that someone can suggest?

So by statistical analysis they don't mean stuff from a statistics class?Sheogorath wrote:You should be, I know in the past few years any math I had to use was really just finding distances, area, and slope. Not too difficult, if you've had Earth Science will be easy.

Re: Remote Sensing
Could anyone that's had this event before tell me if it's way difficult, normal. Ya know, like their views on it.
This is my first year in it and I'm a bit scared, even though my partner is very confident in his own ability. I just don't want to have to totally rely on him.
Thanks~

Re: Remote Sensing
it seems to be one of the more dificult events, but at the 2 competitions i've competed at i haven't prepared for it, and placed only by luck, though some of it seems to be common sense

Re: Remote Sensing
I'm not sure, just in past years I haven't had much math to do. But this is a new topic and some new rules, so maybe some stats stuff, but I doubt it, they probably mean more like plotting your data and similar stuff. Though I haven't taken any tests on Global Warming yet, so we will see.EASTstroudsburg13 wrote:So by statistical analysis they don't mean stuff from a statistics class?Sheogorath wrote:You should be, I know in the past few years any math I had to use was really just finding distances, area, and slope. I've been told by my partner to calm down and not worry so much about it cause it will be fine...rocketman1555 wrote:it seems to be one of the more dificult events, but at the 2 competitions i've competed at i haven't prepared for it, and placed only by luck, though some of it seems to be common sense

Re: Remote Sensing
Read up a little bit on global warming, especially stuff like measurement of chlorophyll concentration in the ocean, measuring area from satellite maps, and what images of Earth from different wavelengths look like. It'll help a lot.
