first place at the Cy-falls invitational for div B was 3191. it weighed 4.7g and held the full weight. I'm not sure what the top scores were for div C but I think they were around 1400.

And we thought our 10g/15kg was good... (although I suppose it was because we're usually bad at building events)

Our team used Internet designs to see if they actually work and so no one could steal our designs. They worked pretty well though.

Congrats! That's a very good score! If you like your design, making a similar one but reinforce the sections that break. If you notice that a particular area does not break for the many bridges you make, you can consider removing members in that area to decrease the mass.

Just something to compare to for Div C.
I got back from the Northview Invitational in Ohio and got 4th with a 1498. I believe 5th was around 1350, 6th was 1122, and I was told (not too sure though) that 1st place was around 1900.

The 2005 B division Gold-medalist had a 2,900 at states in March or so, and went on to her national title with a 3400. I've actually met her, and she is a now allum from NC State. Obviously the top scores increase over the years (as well as the rules), but I would be very suprised if we saw 4000 this year. I'm not sure how much scores increase from regionals to nationals, but I would assume it isn't drastic. Does anyone have further insight on this?

I did not see her design back in 2005 (and probably would not remember it if I had), but I don't believe the rule about no part of the bridge extending below the testing surface was in place at that time, allowing for the really creative and the risk takers to design a buttress into their bridges, saving as much as 2 grams from other designs... Now that the rule exists, it may be more challenging to exceed the 2005 scores than you think.
