Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
to do the string falling off you have a spool and pin in your front axle with your desired amount of string
(i will have a video in a couple of minutes)
and for your back axle have a string that would also fall off and a wingnut brake which would open on the way out and wind back and lock the axle

Oh, a brake. I guess that would work with a lot of fine tuning.
Still, no one has told me exactly the physics behind the forward motion of the car!

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
Can I clarify something? Is there no specific target distance for the vehicle to travel, it just has to be within the 7-8m, and come as close to the starting point as possible?

What do you have to do to get the lane bonus? Is it like electric vehicle where the the wheels cannot go outside of the middle of the tape?

The fixed point that you have along the perimeter of your vehicle that is within 1 cm of the running surface needs to stay within the 1.5 m track lane to get the bonus.TECspin wrote:What do you have to do to get the lane bonus? When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
I just cut out a small piece of a straw and put that between the wheel and the hinge thing. I thought I was going to have to use some sort of lubricant but it actually works pretty well.
