I just completed my CITI certification to conduct social and behavioral research with human participants!

Also, what are your favorite fonts?

Roboto is good sans font. Times is a good serif font, as is georgia (for some applications), lora (for the occasional application), and source serif pro (for some applications). Generally I go times or roboto as defaults, though.

TNR is my default for documents, but I do use Lobster, Comfortaa, Happy Monkey and Oswald for presentations.
Do any of you use imported themes for Google Slides? What are some of your favorite themes if so?

https://www.slidescarnival.com/ has a lot of cool stuff that I use if I'm actually putting effort into the presentation, but it depends on the presentation

Teal are you going to be able to say you're wrong, and I think it only became popular because of its novelty and Microsoft's platform.

Fonts are like wine and cheese; in the right pairings, one can make the other more interesting. I think good font choices and pairings are complementary and appealing aesthetically, appropriate to the subject, and, most importantly, functional--legible and organizing, if those are the goals of the piece.

I use Raleway and Garamond for my CV. Bold all-caps Raleway with increased tracking is used for clean headings and Garamond in varied weights gives a simple yet elegant and professional appearance. I like Raleway, but the double-stroke "w" is too busy for me to use it in situations that are text-heavy.

I use Nexa (in light and bold) and Arial for Tech & Engineering diagrams. Nexa follows Science Olympiad branding and Arial matches the simplicity of typical engineering schematics.

I use Raleway and Open Sans for my Science Olympiad tests. Again, Raleway is used sparingly for headings and Open Sans is a good choice for simplicity and readability.

At one of my previous jobs, I used Proxima Nova for our signage. Proxima Nova has letters that are geometric and pronounced in appearance, making it well-suited for visibility. The many font weights available allow depth while staying within one font. Avenir, the font used on Scioly.org, I think is similar to Proxima Nova in this regard, but we stay in a narrower range of font weights as too light will disappear on lower resolution monitors and too heavy will distract from the rest of the page.
