Yeah I would also really like that but I doubt it has any chance of happening

remove any 2 of astarte/nucula/glycymeris
Agreed.

I personally would like more protists... but I sorta have a feeling that I’m the minority when it comes to that. Also more invertebrates (but again, probably more people prefer vertebrates...).

Same, I prefer invertebrates (but taxonomy for protists sucks). I would like more plants 🌱 too.

I agree, more plants would be nice. Kind of boring to see the same plants over and over in tests since there's only so many on the list to be tested on.

Do you guys think they will change a lot in the fossils list next year?

They’ve mentioned making changes to the orni list, but for some reason I haven’t seen anything about fossils. It doesn’t really make sense that they would change the orni list but not the fossils list... I hope they didn’t forget about us

In all likeliness there will be some minor changes, like adding or removing 2 or 3 specimens. It is highly unlikely that there will be any large changes on the fossils list or how the event is run next year. That being said, I would love it if they would add some rocks or something to the list for the seniors that miss out on R+M (I just don't think it'll happen).

Is there any way to distinguish between the leaves of Acer and Platanus if the base of the leaf where the veins branch is not given?
For example this specimen:

Per twig from a few pages ago. He mentions more than just where they branch, and I think he does a good job explaining.

Look at the veins. Platanus has 3 main veins that branch into two separate veins, and Acer does not have these branching veins.
Another way to tell is by the flowers and also the shape of the leaf. It's just that simple.
