I was thinking about doing this event after reading the old trial rules since i'm an athletic type of person but then when i read some of the examples of the physical task they seamed way to easy and practically anyone could do it. It also doesnt seem to be that hard to do which means a lot of the less-smart teams will be competitive in it. So i decided not to do it since it's a waste of an event block. There will be MANY people on my team who will want to do this event.. just like robo-cross last year.

Sounds perfect for me because I'm one of the most athletic people on my team and all my science events from last year were dumped.

It stinks that they took out metric mastery, but I hope I get to do pentathlon; our people that did it at state last year crack up anytime you mention it, so it must be atleast kind of fun. (And in their case, funny.)

do you think athleticism would be a better quality than brains for this event?
i was just wondering because we have almost no athletes on our team

I'd day brains are better. You dont have to be that athletic to dribble a basketball or carry an egg on a spoon but you never know what types of questions they'll throw at you. With that being said if you cant dribble a basketball at a somewhat fast speed then you probably shouldnt be doing this event unless theres no one else.

lets think about it this way (i apologize in advance)

if a really athletic person did it compared to a really scientific person...the athletic person would get pass the task but not the question. the scientific person would eventually get pass the the task and do the science question. i think this event was to favor sciencey people with some athleticism throw in. i mean the task gets easier every time no? and the tasks don't even have to be THAT athletic like it cant be that had to throw a Frisbee(even if it is in the wrong direction would still get a better chance next time you tried) now winning thats another story ;)
SO stressed!
