Third, read the rules if it says you can than you can. If it says you cant the you cant. Do as the rules say. Learn to read them.

Does anyone have any ideas for the cantilever? The pack of paper may be my counterweight but I am stumped on what to use as the end that is hanging off the table?

i personally like last years better.....to me the entire point of JYC is to build something beforehand......now its not your innovative thinking.....its how big and how fast can u build a working structure....... also set B is HARD my team can rock A but catapult......ramp....and what the other was is just HARD....well mabe not ramp.....JYC was more junkyard and more of a before competition challange then now......im just worried cuz 4 this u NEED to work together and my partner didnt do that last year............we had a rules violation and got 5th when we should have gotten 1st remember the moustraps....time for us was 59.98 seconds human reaction time is .3 seconds so 59.95 sec...WOW but yeah last year was sooooooo much better...........

no tape can be brought to box rules contain material list it does not say tape or glue so no tape or glue can be brought or used....

Actually you ARE allowed to bring tape.
It is under 2.b.vii
"spools of any non-metallic string, line, thread, or tape (must not be used to secure to testing surfaces"

Metallic (grey) duct tape may bause questions so choose one of the many available colored ones available (maybe even match your school colors

Okay, THOSE OF YOU IN JYC!!! get a new bridge strategy... i think everyones at cy-falls failed in some way shape or form. it wasnt pretty.

This years event can be studied by practicing. Our Science teacher lets us stay after school and she grades our devices.
