Re: Ohio 2014
Yes - Tower had an issue with some scoring snafu that kept them from going to States when they were told they were going. That is a tough one to have happen but it does happen. People make mistakes. They are human.syo_astro wrote: Edit: I also looked back, and I think something also happened where Towers had to be dropped in Ohio in 2011? It goes along the same lines that people definitely shouldn't be upset about it, and difficult decisions must be made. That said, I think it sounds like lovescience wants to just make the event run better, which is a good goal (as long as it's more that than annoyance at supervisors).
And yes - that is the goal 100%. I know it goes away next year, but if what happened at States can help make a change for Nationals for the better, that is a very good thing. (again - I have no idea what the venue is like but apparently it is worse than the French Field House at OSU which has to mean it is pretty far from ideal.)

Good luck to Solon and Centerville HS and Middle Schools. Kick b_tt in Orlando and make Ohio proud. Be back in October.

Re: Ohio 2014
Correct, we did have to convert Towers C to a trial event in 2011. For the life of me I can't recall the details though.syo_astro wrote: Edit: I also looked back, and I think something also happened where Towers had to be dropped in Ohio in 2011?

Re: Ohio 2014
Hehe, that's fine. I did some past forum reading to figure it out, that's how I knew . Funny enough, it was from your post! I believe you said along the lines of the person running the event left and so a whole slot couldn't run...but yeah, it happens. Good luck to Solon/Centerville as said, and also I hope, lovescience, that plan works out.chalker wrote:Correct, we did have to convert Towers C to a trial event in 2011. Re: Ohio 2014
Does anyone know how close the top scores for Mission were at Ohio State on Saturday, did it come down to the size of the box with everything else being equal? That would mean perfect sorting devices and scoring all transfers.

The top scores were very close, but nobody had perfect sorting and all transfers.Robotica wrote:Does anyone know how close the top scores for Mission were at Ohio State on Saturday, did it come down to the size of the box with everything else being equal?
