Re: Illinois 2020
Just curious-- is Illinois the only state that does A/AA divisions at state?
We don't talk about Pentathlon.

Re: Illinois 2020
I really want to say no, but that might just be because I'm so used to the Illinois system. I'm sure some other state must have adopted it, but I haven't found anything yet from places like NY and SoCal. Sorry for the non-answer haha, I just find it intriguing!

Wisconsin does Varsity/Exhibition, but exhibition only competes for individual medals and stacks up against varsity.

Re: Illinois 2020
Different thing, though. Wisconsin's exhibition thing is a bit like ranking JV teams separately from V teams.BennyTheJett wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 8:11 pm Wisconsin does Varsity/Exhibition, but exhibition only competes for individual medals and stacks up against varsity.
IL state doesn't have JV teams - the AA teams are (predicted to be) the top half of the field, and A teams the lower half. They medal separately, so small/new teams get a chance at some state bling.

Re: Illinois 2020
I think COD is far enough away that COVID-19 has little affect in that region. The reason they canceled those regionals is due to the COVID-19 presence in Cook County.
