Well, it's the first time my team made state. Ha.
My partner and I received death glares during ornithology.

Camas is the southwest regional champion for th 4th year in a row! We didn't manage to qualify 2 teams this year though.

Re: Washington 2011
It was even worse at the Aviation invite - our two teams got 1st and 3rd, which is why we're surprised we didn't qualify two teams. Oh well, there's always next year (at least for sophomores like me )Teal wrote:^ Hey, Camas.

Re: Washington 2011
I'm going to rant.
THAT COMPETITION SUCKED.
Microbe and Disese Det. B sucked...they were too short.
Anatomy covered everything, not just Respiratory and Muscular.
People had no idea how to use excel. So many places got put down wrong. My team lost 12 points, probably more.
Then stupid Mr. Brown is all "I think I'm going to stop talking and instead yammer on, just to pigeon everyone off." I don't think he realized that everyone already knew B was between Canyon Park and Northshore, and C was Bothell....and then he announced Canyon Park second, and everyone knew Northshore won....but he kept blathering.

Re: Washington 2011
I'm a little confused about this sentence: do you mean that the places were entered wrong on the master score sheet used for determining team placement? This is a serious issue, and is something you should contact the state director, Sue Murphy, about. Her email is statedirector@washingtonscienceolympiad.com.Press_Tilty wrote:I'm going to rant.

Re: Washington 2011
That's good, but it couldn't hurt to remind him. I know what you mean about short tests though - my partners and I finished Disease Detectives, Optics, and Astronomy tests all with 20 minutes to spare. (And my partner was new to disease, so I essentially did that test by myself.) I guess its just a problem that plagues regional tournaments. Hopeully it will go better at state.Press_Tilty wrote:Yes, that's what I mean. It cost us a placing. I'm sure my coach already has.
