We have not received our rules yet. What are the major changes?

For div C. the device must fit in a 60 cm or less cube (70 for div. B). The biggest change is a bucket shot, which is basically launching into a 1 to 5 gallon bucket, that can be between 2 and 10 meters and up to 2 meters right or left of the center line. It is optional and you can only request it for your 2nd shot. And you have to hit the target on the 1st shot to qualify to request the bucket shot.

They're changing a lot, that must mean they don't want anyone to use the same device they've have used the past two years. They also probably want to present a challenge to the builders now that they have some experiance with the event.

Edit: They probably want to break up the bunch at the top at nats that hits both targets and has to be decided by the tie breaker too.

Well, you have to pick a material to make the body out of, Metal, Wood, PVC. You will probably have metal nails or screws on your device, unless you're welding . Like wlsguy said, look at the image gallery to see more specific designs.

You should do a little brainstorming an you can use these pictures to give you ideas and to get you started. If you want some info on some other different kinds of designs, maybe you should research medieval catapults (make sure they are elastic driven.)

Should i use glue or nails for the catapult

Use screws or nails, Glue is something that I think should really not be used in Traj. Except for when gluing PVC to the device, that's a different story

Surgical tubing would also work for a catapult, my team used it and they did pretty good.

Actually, something that is built to withstand high tension and return to the same length is preferable. The elastic I'm refering to is excercise tubing.
