People could put in fake scores.
Also, let's say I do Battery, what score can you put in? Like if you practice BB, you've probably gotten within 1 cm before, and you don't have any way of knowing what your best time is without a photogate system.

True, and I would say put in any times or score from tournaments that you know are accurate, but its all trivial. Sure you could put in a fake score but then you will never know how you stack up against the other teams. Not to mention the idea is all for fun builds can go all over the place in competition at nationals.

Well, for BB, its all about consistency. It really doesnt matter if you got on the dot a bunch of times, its about consistency, which is what the discussion in the nats thread is all about. Regarding time, your time really shouldn't vary beyond .1-.2 seconds w/ different braking distances. There is no need for a super accurate measurement... just something in the ballpark

Everyone's gonna put 3 seconds and someone will put 2.99 seconds and beat whoever put 3 seconds...

i was talking about like constructive scores discussions on the nats thread under buggy, not trivial competitions on some random google form xD
Plus, if people actually felt the need to beat other people in something like that, thats pretty sad.
EDIT: also a difference of <.1 seconds is basically negligible when comparing scores. Btw, I have also found that speeds tend to vary depending on floor surfaces. Probs more has to do w/acceleration and the variance in coef. of friction, but yea, just wanted to throw that out there.

Looks like I'm not the only one who put Raleigh Charter as medaling in Mousetrap! I'm flattered, but still not optimistic.
