Practice breaking down and building your device, and testing it with objects that cover the full spectrum of whatever the test parameter next year is. Also, make sure that your device can accomodate large objects, as the device we used this year had tiny scales that were smaller than the object given us at states.

I believe both of you are correct, it might be hard to practice for, but you can prepare by breaking the event down and practicing for a small part of the event at a time

I'm kinda surprised this was changed from a trial event. It reminds me of mystery architecture.

It just seems like Junkyard Challenge (C) with some altered rules and added to B Division. Isn't this somewhat like Robot Ramble/Robo-Cross?

No not really. It's just mostly that you built the majority of this before the competition.

yeah. They're both events that you're either really good at, or really stink at. If you know what I mean...

Mystery Archatecture really is much more archatectural (hence the name), then Junkyard Challenge. Mystery Archatecture wound up being almost all bridges and towers or the like, while Junkyard challenge is more of an off-beat task that is planned for beforehand. While you are probably right that you are really good at or are horrible at, i think it is a completely different skill set for each.
