Well, actually, I thought you knew, lol because Phoebe came out of the event and was like i messed up the chromatography! I guess it is hard to do xDPhenylethylamine wrote:As usual, nobody told me until it was too late for me to worry about it (in this case, right before Experimental in the morning).
[Even though I'm one of the team captains, my team keeps things like this from me until the last possible minute- I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, though, since often I'm in events/studying/working on stuff the whole time beforehand. At States, we had a minor fiasco with one event, which I didn't find out until the middle of Ecology, my last event for the day. At Nats, there was this with the robot that they told me while we were waiting to go into the event; and as we were on our way up to get our 4th place medal for Crime, my partner turns to me and says, "Oh, did I tell you that I screwed up the chromatography?" Turns out everyone on the team knew but me.]

You should look at the Gelinas team forum, I can add you to the usergroup, then you could see who everyone is.gneissisnice wrote:Who are all these Gelinas people on this forum? I dont know who you are!

Re: 2009 National Science Olympiad Competition Results
Yep, we have two or three captains every year, who help the coaches run the team and make decisions. We also run some of the meetings (especially when the coach doesn't feel like dealing with 35+ restless junior high kids), although that can be tough because a lot of the team doesn't take us that seriously Also, I run the Gelinas usergroup on this forum, and my co-captain basically organized our whole schedule for Nats (our third captain doesn't do much, he basically just stands there and looks pretty while we attempt to run meetings. That's okay, though, since I think without him they wouldn't take us seriously at all).Juce7 wrote:gelinas has team captains? my team doesn't

jk
that's pretty cool, the captain thing. with us, if ure and 8th, or next year a 9th grader, uve got authority adn people listen to you. or if uve got a rep of levelheadedness and people respect u.

As much as the part about Rob is true, there's absolutely no reason to bring him up if you have nothing nice to say about him.Phenylethylamine wrote:Yep, we have two or three captains every year, who help the coaches run the team and make decisions.
