Question about tracks.
Hello, I was just wondering if using something similar to a clear PVC pipe or like a light fixture tube for the track of my roller coaster without cutting it in half, would that violate the rules? The rules state that you must be able to see the vehicle at all times, but does not state if you need to be able to remove the vehicle at any spot. Could someone please clarify?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Question about tracks.
Careful, for the loop you cannot be enclosed.
There is a FAQ on the national site that leaves it a little ambiguous about the rest of the track, but as I read the rules (which is of course unofficial) I think it is only the loop, and of course the gaps themselves, that cannot be enclosed. Take such comment at your own risk!!

Re: Question about tracks.
The FAQ seems to say that enclosed tracks are never allowed, but IMO that is clearly not what the published rules say. The only mention of enclosed track is in 3.k about loops, so I allowed them at our regional. It would be safest to contact your tournament administrators about it.

Re: Question about tracks.
All it says it that you have to be able to see the ball at all times. I mean I’m using this thing for flooring. It isn’t enclosed though. All I’ve seen in the rules is that you have to be able to see it at all times. I’m also in 7th so take my opinion with a grain of salt this is just what I understand.

This was the FAQ mentioned above. To be honest I'm a little confused by that interpretation, the answer given is simply "The track is not allowed if it is enclosed, even if it is transparent." without citing any rule from the manual... If I were a supervisor I'd have permitted a clear tube anywhere besides loops/gaps
