i babysit a ton of kids in gen alpha and apparently counting to 3 doesn't work on them.

"I'm going to count to 3! 1, 2-"
"What happens when you get to 3, hUh?"
"Uh- You get, um, TIME-OUT"
"Time out doesn't really do anything, all we do is sit down."

i just saw a 2nd grader shove his classmate off the second floor of a playground mercilessly and watched the kid on the ground screaming and crying from pain while cackling

you know what, i'm going to pretend that that generation doesn't exist anymore

all i really know is that they scream yeet a lot

i mean, to be fair, i don’t think that kind of incident happening is limited only to that generation, there’s loads of people in my grade I’m sure have or would do that.

during french honors, we played this game where each person has to say a food or drink and if you don’t say one in time or repeat then you get kicked out. i couldn’t think of anything and blurted out “un chien”. i promise, i don’t eat “chiens”.

The fire alarm went off last night during my shower! Why did every single fire alarm in the house go off last night during my shower? Heck if I know- we ended up going through the entire house and couldn't see/hear/smell anything burning!! Then the alarms just shut off by themselves after a few minutes I guess- Non-emergency 911 number said they'd bring out a fire truck to check the house (sorry neighbors ) so we had to sit out on the front sidewalk until they went through the house and found nothing.
Sensor issue? Wiring issue? Idk the smoke alarms are pretty old- apparently MD law says you need to replace your smoke alarms every 10 years, and ours are at least 14 years old which might be why everything had a stroke.

I just found out that my hospital stay back in December for three heart stents was also for my first heart attack -- fortunately a minor one.

but also, we’re going to have way more college debt than you, so you don’t get to complain about that anymore.

Even in jest, this take is . People are struggling hard from college debt, it's not a contest of who's struggling harder than who based on what the numbers say.
