Only three regionals? That'll be interesting.... Do you know what hybrid regionals would consist of?CPScienceDude wrote: ↑September 30th, 2020, 8:31 am Alright INSO just released some information finally. It wasn’t much, but here’s what I got out of the email.
1. There will be 3 regionals (all satellite) with hopes of running them hybrid.
2. State will be hosted by Purdue, format undetermined.

Re: Indiana 2021
Um not really. I edited the email to only include the interesting stuff:
Regional Tournaments will be run using a satellite format where the events will be run virtually and delivered to the students on-line at their school. If the conditions of the pandemic allow, we will run a hybrid format where the "building" events will be run at a specified location on tournament day. We will be hosting three satellite regional tournaments for this upcoming season with the hopes to host a hybrid location in different sites around the state. The State tournament this season will be hosted by Purdue University and their Science Olympiad club. At this time the format of the state tournament has not been determined.

I can't decide whether to say "Darn, we actually have to do the builds" or "Yay, we might actually get to go somewhere for a competition!"CPScienceDude wrote: ↑September 30th, 2020, 10:23 am Um not really. I edited the email to only include the interesting stuff:

(Would builds probably include halfbuilds like Machines, Detector, etc.?)
2018: Hovercraft, Thermo, Coaster, Solar System
2019: Thermo, Circuit Lab, Sounds, Wright Stuff
2020: Circuit Lab, Wright Stuff, Machines
2021: Circuit Lab, Machines, WIDI, anything but Wright Stuff
Can I request that we delete 2020 from our memories and do it over again?

I believe the hope would be that this would include the "half builds," as well.Creationist127 wrote: ↑September 30th, 2020, 10:36 amI can't decide whether to say "Darn, we actually have to do the builds" or "Yay, we might actually get to go somewhere for a competition!"CPScienceDude wrote: ↑September 30th, 2020, 10:23 am Um not really. If nothing radically changes... no, I don't think so.veroniquescioly wrote: ↑October 8th, 2020, 9:12 am Does anyone think there is a chance state could be in person?
I hold optimism that the virus will die down by March, but barring a super effective, soon-coming cure and vaccine, I don't think such an occurrence is realistic. Vaccines take a long time to produce and test, and would be controversial upon arrival, so... I'm thinking it'll be digital.
Please, someone come by and prove me wrong

Re: Indiana 2021
We did, but INSO seems to be generally really behind on things this year, which is understandable, but still frustrating. I’d hopefully expect it within a month or two?
