Re: Action xii: Pendulum clock
Hey just wanted to know if any of you have any good resources for obtaining the mechanical (non-electronic) pendulum clock, or any layouts for 3d printing it.
Thanks,

There's an animation of an anchor escapement on the wikipedia page. You don't have to make a good clock - it doesn't have to keep time well, or even tick once a second - it just has to last more than 10 seconds. Just don't power it with a spring if you want to use it as a timewaster. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchor_escapement

Re: Action xii: Pendulum clock
Just one clarification: pendulum clock does not really mean real clock here. Correct?

It depends what you mean by "real clock".Devinszhang wrote: ↑October 26th, 2019, 8:35 pm Just one clarification: pendulum clock does not really mean real clock here. Correct?
A pendulum clock has to be a pendulum clock - it has to regulate time with the oscillation of a pendulum - and it has to run for at least 10s before starting the next action. It doesn't have to be a commercially-produced clock, and it doesn't have to run at 1 tick per second. It doesn't have to display the time of day. You might, I suppose, describe it as a pendulum-regulated mechanical countdown timer rather than a "clock". I'd think you'd want to include some kind of face with a hand that moves, though, so the ES can see what's going on.

Project Clock has some plans, but you'd have to scale it down quite a bit for it to work in competition

Hi,
Does anybody know where to obtain a gear that works efficiently for an escapement?
Thanks
