Btw does anyone have the full results from UChicago cuz the avogadro page is now gone.

Re: Illinois 2020
Yeah I'm not sure if anyone is thinking this after both an early season win at Palatine and the Solon invite. To me it seems pretty clear that Stevenson will emerge as the clear winner.TheChiScientist wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 8:25 pm I wonder if Naperville North reads the forums... (Join us <_<)
Whose thinking that NN pulls off the biggest upset of the decade and dethrones NT or Stevenson this year? They came within striking distance last year. All it would take is one major slip up from NT or Stevenson really...

Re: Illinois 2020
I wonder how Warren will do, since they got around 2/3 of the Woodland members from last year, and 4 of them made Varsity. Perhaps they could do well at state?

Re: Illinois 2020
Stevenson has shown themselves to be the clear front runner currently. I'm more concerned about the situation with the NT vs NN standoff. NN had surprising results at UChicago and while NT has probably improved the same can be said for NN. Although if Stevenson or NT bomb 1-3 events NN could come in and take the national bid... I didn't plan on staying to watch the award ceremony at state but given these circumstances it may be a historic state tournament.hmma wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 9:13 amYeah I'm not sure if anyone is thinking this after both an early season win at Palatine and the Solon invite. Is Stevenson that far ahead? They haven't seemed like it to me.TheChiScientist wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:44 pmStevenson has shown themselves to be the clear front runner currently. Stevenson seems to be more stable and consistent than NT at the moment. NT is a wild card at the moment.Unome wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:51 pmIs Stevenson that far ahead? Re: Illinois 2020
I don't think that Stevenson is necessarily that far ahead of us. We're definitely less consistent than they are, but we did recently end up beating them at Solon (tie was broken by gold medals) with a few key members of our team missing. However, they have shown themselves to be a bit ahead of us throughout the year. Naperville North also haven't really shown themselves at any recent invitationals (their last one was when they beat us at uChicago I think), so we really don't know where the heck they are compared to us and Stevenson.TheChiScientist wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:04 pmStevenson seems to be more stable and consistent than NT at the moment. Re: Illinois 2020
Omg it almost that time of year again! Wow does time fly!
I'll have my go at predictions, so here are my state pre-regionals predictions. These might change depending on how regionals go.
1. Stevenson
2. New Trier
3. Naperville North*
4. Neuqua Valley
5. UChicago
6-8. Naperville Central, Hinsdale Central, Grayslake North**
9-15. Walter Payton, Lyons Township, Huntley, Crystal Lake Central, Conant, Hersey, Niles West***
*NN has been on the rise in recent years, but I don't see them taking the cake this year despite what happened at UChicago. Solon proved that Stevenson and New Trier are still relatively close, so this will become more clear after regionals.
**Grayslake North is a gray spot right now. It's not really clear where they are right now due to the lack of results. Again we will see after regionals.
***All of these teams have the potential of moving up or down one or two places based on recent superscores. If some teams play their cards right, they might be able to pull ahead!

Re: Illinois 2020
For Div. B, did anyone notice how Lane Tech AC was a good distance behind 2 JV teams at a previous invite? I think this might lead to some surprises at the IIT Regional.
We don't talk about Pentathlon.
