dang northwestern lehigh once again looking really really good congrats to themSciOlyVeteran wrote: ↑February 1st, 2020, 3:25 pm Final Super Scores from MC Barons today:
1st: Lower Merion: 108
2nd: Northwestern Lehigh: 121
3rd: Garnet Valley: 124
4th: Conestoga: 143
Lower Merion actually placed 3rd without the super score with Northwestern Lehigh placing 1st, and Garnet Valley 2nd. Can’t wait to hear what EastStroudsberg has to say about these scores.

Re: Pennsylvania 2020
My way too early states predictions
1. Harriton (Yeah they got 11th at MIT, but they always manage to pull out the win anyway)
2. Cumberland Valley
3. Lower Merion,
4. Bayard Rustin,
5. Shady Side, Haven't been to any invitationals they've been at so I really don't know, but honestly, 3rd-5th will probably be super close
6. Northwestern Lehigh
7. Penncrest
8. Conestoga
9. Garnet Valley
Really don't know where to put state college as I haven't seen any results from them yet

Re: Pennsylvania 2020
You'd put Rustin that low despite the 4th place finish at Solon? Also note that Harriton got 22nd at MIT - 11th was last year.112358132134 wrote: ↑February 4th, 2020, 11:53 am My way too early states predictions

Shady Side has been to at least three invitationals this year:112358132134 wrote: ↑February 4th, 2020, 11:53 am My way too early states predictions

Northview (5th) - https://unosmium.org/results/2019-12-07 ... tational_c
Carnegie Mellon (2nd) - https://unosmium.org/results/2020-01-11 ... tational_c
Solon (14th) - https://unosmium.org/results/2020-02-01 ... tational_c
These are all pretty solid performances, but I think 5th seems about right for SSA right now.
"Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:11-12
I have no regrets.

I think that person meant that they hadn't bean to any invites that SSA was also at.Tailsfan101 wrote: ↑February 4th, 2020, 12:44 pmShady Side has been to at least three invitationals this year:112358132134 wrote: ↑February 4th, 2020, 11:53 am My way too early states predictions

Re: Pennsylvania 2020
Wow didn't see those Solon results and I had MIT mixed up.
Updated predictions
1/2 Lower Merion and Bayard Rustin
3. Harriton
4. Cumberland Valley
5. Shady Side, hard to tell since they don't really compete against the other top PA teams much at invitationals, but they have been very strong at invitationals.
6/7/8/9/10 Northwestern Lehigh/Penncrest/Conestog/Garnet Valley, not in that order. There's a lot of very strong teams this year. Penncrest and Stoga have historically been stronger though, and Conestoga looks like the strongest of the bunch so far.
Does anyone know what invitationals Penncrest has been to this year?
State College, North Pocono, and North Penn could definitely be contenders for the 6-10 slots too

And the Princeton and Tiger invitationals should paint a clearer picture this weekend.

Re: Pennsylvania 2020
1. Harriton
2-3. Bayard Rustin and Cumberland Valley
4-5. LM and SSA
Anything less than first for Harriton would surprise me. If this year is like last, they'll have a weak invitational showing, be sightly better at regionals, win the state title, and peak at nats.
Rustin and CV are looking pretty close right now. I still feel like CV is a little ahead at this point in the season, but Rustin is known to improve significantly in the latter part of the season. This is going to be a tight race.
I wasn't able to choose between LM and SSA, but maybe SOUP will help me decide. LM is looking weaker than last year, and SSA is looking stronger. I don't know how these two teams compare, and I don't think there will be a huge gap in their scores at states.

Having events early in the alphabet is scary, because you don't want to be the first to disappoint your team...

Re: Pennsylvania 2020
I really wouldn't be surprised if they didn't take 1st this year. Last year they weren't as dominant at states, only beating Bayard Rustin by 29 points. Considering that was when they got 11th at MIT and this year they got 22nd I could definitely see Bayard Rustin, and maybe even Lower Merion, beating Harriton this year. Just because they've made it happen in the past doesn't necessarily mean they will this year.catch-22 wrote: ↑February 4th, 2020, 3:41 pm 1. Harriton
