Re: Wright Stuff C
The plane itself is so small and heavy you could make a biplane out of solid balsa wood and still have weight left overCrayolaCrayon wrote: ↑September 3rd, 2019, 4:36 am Will be interesting to see designs with this... this prop size If anyone wants some hit me up: https://www.amazon.com/Crazepony-Four-B ... 6819&psc=1

it's not about the medals; go out there and have fun. make progress, learn a few things and have one heck of a time; that's all that matters.

Re: Wright Stuff C
high key considering making my entire plane out of wood just because the stupid 8 gram rule is back
also ik you guys already mentioned this but... the prop is smaller than ever before
also can someone explain the difference on how to manage a biplane and a monoplane

Re: Wright Stuff C
Looks like the trick this year is making it fly in both directions. And, you know, actually making it fly with a microscopic propeller.
2018: Hovercraft, Thermo, Coaster, Solar System
2019: Thermo, Circuit Lab, Sounds, Wright Stuff
2020: Circuit Lab, Wright Stuff, Machines
2021: Circuit Lab, Machines, WIDI, anything but Wright Stuff
Can I request that we delete 2020 from our memories and do it over again?

Re: Wright Stuff C
The very small propeller, clockwise/counterclockwise flight, possible multi-wing config and very small stabilizer are interesting challenges. Lots of testing required this year (as usual).

Re: Wright Stuff C
K,
Lots of biplane trim and design info in RCGroups forums. Try google searching “biplane static stability calculation”. This configuration is rarely used in indoor freeflight. I posted Chris Goins “Double Trouble” Plan in Hip Pocket Builders Plan section under Indoor/other classes. Also, see the “20+” unlimited penny plane design in Indoor News and Views “Winning Indoor Designs” download.
Good luck to all,
Brian T

Re: Wright Stuff C
Been waiting for biplanes to come back! This should be fun, especially with changing the direction pretty much being required to be competitive.

Re: Wright Stuff C
thanks for that info brian
one question - does it seem like a better approach to go on the biplane side this year??
