Meant to say 30 feet (looks like editing is disabled in these forums). Not sure if this is exact, but it's probably within a few feet.Unome wrote:I believe it was somewhere in the range of 20 feet (from what I can remember from looking at the state website a few weeks ago)seadog wrote:What was the height of the gym at the Michigan Tournament?

Re: Max Times at Nationals
Top teams at Wright State Invite were getting just over 2 minutes in the same venue. 1st place was about 2:10 min 10th place was about a 1:30 min.

The actual recorded flight time was a 2:17 with a no touch flight. It was exciting to watch because they didn't appear to have any extra room between the top of the plane and the lights / beamJasperKota wrote:So what actually ended up being the max times at nats? Wow, seems like predictions were wrong, although competition often times doesn't go the way practice does. The mentor of 6th place team posted on the Hip Pocket Aeronautics forums; with a time of 1:56.wlsguy wrote:The actual recorded flight time was a 2:17 with a no touch flight. Re: Max Times at Nationals
Nationals 2017 report:
Many teams were not prepared for the 22' ceiling and several hit the ceiling and obstructions. Those teams who could fly no touch did well.
From memory, the winning team as well as most of the other top finishers flew at least one no touch flight. The actual times (in seconds and the best of the 2 flights) are listed below:
1 Huntington M.S. (WV) 137.6
2 Winston Churchill M.S. (CA) 136.28
3 Daniel Wright J.H.S. (IL) 130.82
4 Shady Side Academy (PA) 117.69
5 Marie Murphy M.S. (IL) 117.09
6 Preston M.S. (CO) 114.75
