At nationals it seemed like the test had some difficult questions, however, it was mostly made up of easy questions. So, when it got down to time, we finished before the halfway mark. It would have been nice if the test was longer and harder. That's what it seemed to me at least. This is my favorite event. It's definitely a lab event. It has a test component & a lab component, also (somewhat subjective) the lab depends significantly on how well you can operate the build, rather than its technical power.GoofyFoofer wrote:Quick question. Isn't this a build event and not a lab event?

Measured from the fulcrum, distance left times weight = distance right times that weight. Or d1wt 1 = d2 wt2 or wt1/wt2 = d2/d1 There is your ratio. They are labeled wt A, B, and C: the way you assign the weight letters, it is either the ratio above or the inverse of it. Say the distances are 50 for A and 30 for B. The ratio of A/B would be A/B = 30/50 or simplified = 3/5 If the ratio was B/A it would be 50/30 or 5/3

Last year, the build determined who won. The top teams has scores very close/exactly the same as the next place.
