Well, I don't know if anyone has a test this early... People might be writing tests, but for now, you could try writing a test. Just use the Audubon Guide and the insect list, as well as the rules and what they need to know to make questions.
But I don't think many written questions are going to come up until some invitationals happen.
You could use the Question Marathon subforum and go to "Quizzing Announcement," which has an ID test.

I think we should revert to the format used for Forestry last year.
Pictures of insect, hide responses, etc. inform if correct.
Life List: 373 (last Common Redpoll, Lorain Impoundment, Lorain County, OH)

That's exactly what's happening in the Question Marathons section of the forums.

Do we need to know individual species? It doesn't say that we do in the rules, but people are doing it in the Question Marathon.
You can't read this. You mad bro?

We're only doing it for fun - species won't be on any tests.

"Teams will be asked to identify an insect's Order, Family or common name"
I think this means they can ask about species, but common name only.

2014 Regionals: 1st Entomology, 3rd Geo-Mapping
2014 States: 1st Entomology, 24th Geo-Mapping

Why would they do that? That doesn't make sense. By common name, they probably mean common name of the family/order; i.e.: Darners for Aeshnidae, etc.

possibly. I think it could be interpreted either way.

I've submitted a rules clarification, although I do believe it's orders and families only.
