Does anybody know what happened with Wisdom Lane?

They got 24th place, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

First, Wisdom Lane is a good team that usually does really well here in WLI (though, this year they seemed to have an even two teams, which made them do not as well, but still very well in my opinion considering my middle school). I think a number of times they've gotten top 20 or top 15 at states? So it's fairly weird that they didn't even break top 20, not to mention their penalty. For my question, I just really wonder what happened to South Orangetown after last year...

I think it was just that South Orangetown lost some good people. I don't think last year had any effect on their performance this year.

I don't mean to sound unsympathetic, but...5th in an event at NY Div B States is nothing to feel bad about...heck even 17th, even GETTING to states you shouldn't feel bad about. I know in middle school we NEVER would've gone, so the fact that I've gotten to go to states the past few years makes me REALLY happy. I think when you'll look back you should be pretty proud of any accomplishments .

Yeah... We were waiting! After half an hour, we were certain that you ditched, or forgot about it. We were just about to go back to the room. As for my personal events, I had Boom, RS, and Mousetrap. And Lucia... those sevenths. We had to deal with her for six hours!

I'm sorry! We lost track of time, and then didn't know where the gym was. I'm so glad we caught you guys, to be honest.

Casey and Lucia got sevenths. Poor guys. That's amazing, though. Seventh out of the best 37 in NEW YORK? Congatulations again to everyone.

My conclusion, while it sounds rough, is that they eliminated a lot of the kids who went to states that year as punishment, so they had a new, inexperienced team. And while they did well enough to qualify, it wasn't enough to do well. I didn't recognize anyone except one kid, and he was in a wheelchair.

Congratulations everyone; really, it was phenomenal.
I'm still proud of myself for getting 18th and 19th in Metric Mastery and Experimental Design because I did LITERALLY nothing for either one. Literally. Oh, Mai, tell Faima hi and that she will definitely do better in Metric at nationals, if she's going!

Well, based on our results, you know we did poorly. xD We forgot the formulae for, like, everything (volume, density, etc.). We were unbelievably unprepared. But on things like temperature, that insanely easy angle, and the lengths, we did fairly well. I wish I could see what I got and what I didn't so I could improve.

To those who did Rocks and Minerals, I was the event director

Also, when Virginia Curry was giving her speech at the award ceremony and mentioned the former Gelinas student who continues to do Science Olympiad and was here running the Rocks event...that was me. It felt really cool to be recognized like that in front of everyone, but I didn't really know what to do, so I stayed seated.I feel so awkward for not standing up or anything!

I don't think I saw any of you guys apart from the Gelinas and Murphy kids, but I hope you all had a blast. Especially if you did Rocks and Minerals, hehe.
