Nationals "activities" - what are they?
I'm reading about "Battle of the Bands" and "Swap Meet" and all this other fun-sounding stuff but I have no idea what this is... Anyone care to give a short summary of all these things in one place for nationals first timers?

http://nso.wisc.edu/master_schedule.php?day=friday This is the master schedule, there isn't a lot to explain. For Battle of the Bands I assume they will bring in some local bands to play music. For the swap meet check out the thread for it. Basically you trade things from your state (shirts, pins, memorabilia) with students from other states. It's a way to mingle with competitors prior to the competition.ErinH wrote:I'm reading about "Battle of the Bands" and "Swap Meet" and all this other fun-sounding stuff but I have no idea what this is... There is also an ice cream social after the swap meet. Eat ice cream and do some more mingling. Then there are other things from Wednesday-Friday that attempt to flaunt the institution in general. Museum tours, campus tours, and the like.
Call me coach.

Re: Nationals "activities" - what are they?
swap meet is right after opening ceremony and you bring stuff, go to a table based on you state and then either set up and trade with others that walk by or put it in a box/bag and walk around trying to get good stuff for what you broughtErinH wrote:I'm reading about "Battle of the Bands" and "Swap Meet" and all this other fun-sounding stuff but I have no idea what this is...
