Re: Parade Of States, Celebrations, and Parties
I find that curious. I have had the honor of being in the Parade of States at the Wichita Nationals, but not because I was a captain. It was my first year doing C Division Olympiad, and as custom, my school sends the newbies up to hold the banner. It's kind of like an initiation.sciencegeek100 wrote:the captains walk the banner out, the rest sit in the stands with the parents and coachesfcfirewings5 wrote:What is ur state gonna do for the parade of states to represent urselfs? Re: Parade Of States, Celebrations, and Parties
Yep, we did that here too. My freshman year they made me carry it because I was an alternate; last year they made me do it again because I was the youngest. If we go to nationals again, I would carry the banner again, because... I'm still the youngest.IdahoSciGuy wrote:I find that curious. Re: Parade Of States, Celebrations, and Parties
Haha cool, a parade of states. Like the Parade of Nations in the real Olympics.
/me begs Randolph HS and Auburn JHS not to sing "Sweet Home Alabama" at any time during the flag ceremony. >_<
My friend, who's another officer in my United Way, MAY be there (she's not sure if she's interested in going to Nats <--- out of her mind! I WOULD DIE FOR THAT CHANCE!!!)...

In our middle school team, we have some freshmen, so they will hold the flag.

We don't have captains >.>
So during our parade at the States, we just chose 3 random people

Re: Parade Of States, Celebrations, and Parties
What are you guys and girls wearing? (for the opening ceremony)
I heard people wear pretty formal stuff like prom-ish attire.
Too bad, since I come from Hawaii...guess what we have to wear?
YEAH ALOHA PRINT. T___T
I'm trying really hard to get the "mandatory aloha print dress" repealed for our team. I'm not paying $45 for that....

Re: Parade Of States, Celebrations, and Parties
I don't think people usually get really formal for the opening ceremony, although I'm sure someone does. Most schools wear tee-shirts that somehow represent their school or state. It's the award ceremony that everyone gets dressed up for.808girl wrote:What are you guys and girls wearing? (for the opening ceremony)
