Re: Size of Vehicle
Hello fellow participants, So I wanted to know what size (width and length) you guys were aiming for in the size of your car and what type of weight you may also aim in the building of the car. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also, related to the weight factor I was wondering where the weight di...

Re: Start Task
As the name suggests - First time one of my kids has been involved in Science Olympiad. You make a point. I will say in our testing it hasn't been an issue but we may need to re-look at how we start. Hey, just a heads up, make sure you aren't too involved if you are a parent. The student should do ...

Re: PSA - Hook vs. Bolt Attachment
Potentially less stable, harder to get accurate, you will have to be very precise to do this. I wouldn't recommend it because the amount of time/effort/skill it takes to get it perfect won't pay off IMO to get the extra 1cm of vertical distance.

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C
So from what I'm getting, are 2-7/8" banebots wheels not viable this year? Since if you want the car to go backwards then it has to go at least 8 m theoretically since you can't coast forwards if you reverse wind. You could just make a longer lever arm. harvard wants to know your location jkjk...

Re: Boomilever B/C
I think, to a point, you need to be ultra precise on how even your column pieces are as well as your tension pieces. It will be very similar to towers, where if your tower wasn't perfectly level, there will be an imbalance which may cause the death of your boom.
