Re: Disease Detectives B/C
Do we need to know the different sub-types of statistical tests (such as one-tail and two-tail Z-Tests)? I have Chi-square and One Sample Z-Test down, but the list seems endless. :( The Statistic Overview on soinc.org (https://www.soinc.org/sites/default/files/uploaded_files/16_DISEASE_STATISTICS_C...

Re: Experimental Design B/C
I've been in Experimental Design for a few years now and the same question still comes to mind: When getting to a very competitive level (i.e. the teams competing know the rubric inside and outside, word for word in their head), for example, top 10 at Nationals, how are teams distinguished in rank? ...

Re: Indiana 2015
Yeah, Indiana has been on the verge of 1 vs 2 teams the past few years anyways, doesn't surprise me that a factor like that restricted us to 1 team.

Re: Forensics C
Just got back from my first full experience of Forensics at competition... and I failed! I was not expecting a full on crime scenario to take up the entire event. I was moreso expecting half exam and half scenario, I guess I was wrong. I was under pressure the entire time and having 10 bunsen burner...

Re: Rotor Egg Drop B
Congrats to everyone who did rotor egg drop this year! Does anyone know the winning time? I got 4th (really close to a $3k scholarship arggg) with something between 8.2 and 8.6 (I didn't time it, but my friend took video) I noticed a lot of people hit the wall (including Daniel Wright.) I got lucky...

Re: What is your least favorite event?
I would have to say Metric Mastery. The event itself doesn't seem to have much scientific basis, other than the understanding of the metric system. Other than that, it doesn't have much real value in the advanced world of science, especially estimation. It seems kind of stupid to try to master estim...

Yeah, Wackadoos was pretty WACK.
In all seriousness though, after my first meal there I ended up getting Qdoba for every meal for the rest of the trip.

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C
Wow, I thought I would be the only one to not know Norton/Thevenin's theorem. I wish I had gotten really hard Shock Value tests like this before, all my previous tests I had taken like State/New Albany/etc are all 10x easier than what the nats test was like... I'm also guessing winning team (Muscate...
